May 28 , 2009 :

Time has been a blur lately. There's been lots going on as I continue to try to balance my private practice, writing projects, marriage, two year old and other aspects of "life."

I've been working on a huge transition of this site, The Toolbox at LisaKiftTherapy.com into a more user-friendly and organized place to add my articles, tips and tools - while also making room for the work of other mental health and relationship professionals as well. There are a lot of others out there in my therapy field - who have something valuable to say regarding how to be healthy in the areas of relationships and emotional health.

Stay tuned for more on my undertaking - it will likely not go into effect for at least a month.

In other news:

I am pleased to have recently gotten some very nice comments about the first in my Therapy-At-Home(TM) Workbooks series, The Premarital Counseling Workbook for Couples. Paula Richer is passionate about the topic of "premarital education" and in fact, considers herself a Premarital Education Promoter. She recently did a research project comparing premarital education, practices and laws across five states, including California - and she had interviewed me as her therapist representative from this state.

She was very excited to hear that I'd written a workbook for couples as she had not seen something such as this. After she finished reading it, this is what she had to say:

“I have just finished reading your premarital workbook and I have to say, ‘Well done!’  Throughout much of it I was thinking, ‘Yes!  Thank you for saying that!’  Overall it seems like you're helping couples hold a giant flashlight over that first layer of their relationship odyssey that they may not ever have looked at before.”

I'm very grateful to have this feedback.

Warmly,
